Why are you in college?

When I ask students "why are you going to college?", there are four kinds of answers I get:

1. "I'm here to get a diploma so I can get a higher paying job when I'm out of here"
2. "I'm here to get good grades so I can get into a good grad school after this"
3. "I'm here to get a good education so I can get into a career where I can make a difference in this world"
4. "I'm here to learn how to learn from anyone and anything that happens so I'm prepared for however crazy it gets in my lifetime"

Everyone is seeking a kind of value from the time and money they spend. No one is wasting it away, though many feel disappointed, ripped off and over charged for what they are getting.
